Sarah Simpson - Best job applicant
Tip of the day: Don't have "one more" with a brit…
Waking through grey eyes to grey skies I realised at the instant that perhaps I had one to many with Sarah Simpson and husband Nick night. After wandering from pub with the last one 1/2 finished, we made our way home where we engaged in various discussions about travel, the best job, got up to some antics around the pool table. There was also a late night 3 way Skype conversation with Charles (business partner), currently in Chilli and Joey, at home in the Whitsundays. What a marvel Skype is… and completely free. To connect simultaneously around the world never ceases to marvel this career geek.

Anyway, the morning improved sharply with a tray, I mean a TRAY of Bacon, eggs, sausages served into my lap while still rising from the couch / bed of the last night. Sarah was being a fine host!

The morning formed up nicely, Tea instead of coffee, pat the Labrador, pack the bags and smart car for a "tikki tour" of Poole and surrounds. The overnight rain had flooded some roads and we watched as one elderly lady, no stranger to the situation waded off across the 300 m flooded causeway road to the neighbouring town with her morning shop.

The swans and ducks were loving it though. "Ducks weather" as we would say back in Oz. Threatened by an overzealous swan, I offered to wring its neck, but was reminded by Sarah, that Swans in the UK are the Queen's property, and any offensive action against them would bring me to the gallows…. And the swans new it, arrogant things!

Hamstrung by legal red tape, I grabbed a snap and bid a hasty retreat, backing away to avoid a snap on the ass.

With Sarah playing hooky from work, we Smart car'd to Sandbanks and set up for an interview by the sea. One of the best beaches in the the UK, its reputed that the car park cues wind back for kilometres (miles?) on the best days.  Sandbanks on this day, definitely did not deserve more than a raised eyebrow. It was cold, and the dark sky made the wave action look almost angry. We got the interview done with clouds intervening and on the 4th attempt got the footage we wanted without too many shadows. Sarah was otherwise great fun, easy to talk to, and comfortable and energetic in front of the camera.

There is no question that she has the energy and enthuisiasm for the role, has put in the time and had continue to create application videos to help her cause… seemingly to the detriment of her workplace reputation. This is one committed soul!

Quote from Ghandi
I do not want my house to be walled in on all sides and my windows to be stuffed. I want the culture of all lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible.

Pretty much my life... and I love it.

Next G Coverage
Telstra Next G coverage continues to impress. Using my Tu500 handset, I have been able to get on the net at high speed at various places. The latency of the network also seems very low when I get on. Very nice.

John speaks about Telstra Next G

Says it all : "Sailing" by Christopher Cross
It's not far down to paradise
At least it's not for me
And if the wind is right you can sail away
And find tranquility
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me

It's not far to never never land
No reason to pretend
And if the wind is right you can find the joy
Of innocence again
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me

Sailing
Takes me away
To where I've always heard it could be
Just a dream and the wind to carry me
And soon I will be free

Fantasy
It gets the best of me
When I'm sailing
All caught up in the reverie
Every word is a symphony
Won't you believe me

It's not far back to sanity
At least it's not for me
And when the wind is right you can sail away
And find serenity
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me
