7:00pm, Thu 22 May 2008 :  Dent to Dunk
Tagging along on the Dent to Dunk race witih Jo and ChannelWhitsunday.com promo girls, Kay and Kristin. After a motor start, we gathered up the provisions and sailed up to Cape Gloucester Eco Resort. There, the 46 cruising boats descended on the resort for the Pirates and Blues nights. The twisted theme, was from the remnants of last years Blues and Pirates being the 2008 theme. The past players got to show their colours that way.

ChannelWhitsunday.com was there in force. We have the pirate captain and his parrot, while the girls served well as pirate wenches. In was a great night.

On the second day, we got up late and chased the fleet north. The wind freshened from the SW, which made for fantastic flat water sailing. While the fleet decided to go behind Cape Upstart, where they would have flat water, but still the wind, we ducked into Coconut Bay on the Eastern side of Cape Upstart. Completely protected from the wind and waves in SW winds, we shoved up on the beach for low tide, a swim, walk around, climb the boulders and some two on two soccer.

In the evening, we caught some fish which we cooked on the beach, with a side of nachos, damper, and skewers. All this while the clear skies had the stars and full moon watching on.

Perhaps you would call it living the dream!

Quote from Ghandi
I do not want my house to be walled in on all sides and my windows to be stuffed. I want the culture of all lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible.

Pretty much my life... and I love it.

Next G Coverage
Telstra Next G coverage continues to impress. Using my Tu500 handset, I have been able to get on the net at high speed at various places. The latency of the network also seems very low when I get on. Very nice.

John speaks about Telstra Next G

Says it all : "Sailing" by Christopher Cross
It's not far down to paradise
At least it's not for me
And if the wind is right you can sail away
And find tranquility
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me

It's not far to never never land
No reason to pretend
And if the wind is right you can find the joy
Of innocence again
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me

Sailing
Takes me away
To where I've always heard it could be
Just a dream and the wind to carry me
And soon I will be free

Fantasy
It gets the best of me
When I'm sailing
All caught up in the reverie
Every word is a symphony
Won't you believe me

It's not far back to sanity
At least it's not for me
And when the wind is right you can sail away
And find serenity
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me
